Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a rich history that expands to over 200 years and was modernised in the 1960’s by Chairman Mao Zedong. TCM is based on how the concepts of Qi, Yin and Yang and their effects on Health and Wellbeing. When there is a discordance of the elements the resulting disharmony can lead to illness and disease.
There are many therapies within the TCM system:
Acupuncture is effective in relieving pain associated with symptoms such as musculoskeletal injuries, headaches and menstrual disorders. It is also effective in assisting in resolving sleep disorders, as well as creating a harmonious functioning of the internal organs.
Chinese Herbal Medicine on the other hand can help the body to regain strength and balance, nourish blood, strengthen and regulate the female reproductive system, build energy and vitality. Chinese herbal products have been studied for many medical problems, including stroke, heart disease, mental disorders, and respiratory diseases.
I am a certified practitioner registered with the New Zealand Acupuncture Association, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture with the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I am also registered as an ACC provider and I am able to provide ACC treatments.
